A Dinosaur for Christmas
A dinosaur for Christmas
is the only thing I need.
It doesn't matter if it's slow
or one that's built for speed.
A massive one, a tiny one
or one that's in between.
A dinosaur that's muddy brown
or bright and shiny green.
I don't care if it's big and tall
or really old and ugly.
I don't care if it's rough and tough
or soft and cute and snuggly.
A spiny one will do the trick.
A scaly one is fine.
As long as it's a living, breathing dinosaur,
and mine.
I promise if you bring me one
I'll never ask for more,
That's all I want for Christmas:
just one single dinosaur.
From the hell to the heaven,There's no straight way to walk.
Sometimes up, sometimes down.
Hope creates a heaven for us,Despair makes a hell for us.
Some choices are waiting for me,Which one on earth is better?
No God in the world can help me,Choosing is the 1)byname of freedom,Different choice makes different future.
It's stupid to put eyes on others.
I have to make up my own mind,Going my way to the destination.
Facing success or failure,It's no need to care too much.
Only if I've tried my best,It’s enough for my simple life.
Einstein's Brain
I heard that they've got Einstein's brain
just sitting in a jar.
I don't know where they keep it,but I hope it isn't far.
I need to go and borrow it
to help me with this test.
I've answered twenty questions
but on every one I guessed.
If someone asks you where I've gone,then kindly please explain
I'll be right back; I've just gone out
to look for Einstein's brain.
Evergreen boughs that fill our homes
With fragrant Christmas scents,Hearts filled with the loving glow
That Christmas represents;
Christmas cookies, turkeys stuffed,Festive holly berry,Little faces bright with joy,Loved ones being merry;
Parties, songs, beribboned gifts,Silver bells that tinkle,Christmas trees and ornaments,Colorful lights that twinkle;
Relatives waiting with open arms
To smile and hug and kiss us;
These are some of the special joys
That come along with Christmas.
A Parents Love
I gave you life,
but cannot live it for you.
I can teach you things,
but I cannot make you learn.
I can give you directions,
but I cannot be there to lead you.
I can allow you freedom,
but I cannot account for it.
I can take you to church,
but I cannot make you believe.
I can teach you right from wrong,
but I cannot always decide for you.
I can buy you beautiful clothes,
but I cannot make you beautiful inside.
I can offer you advice,
but I cannot accept it for you.
I can give you love,
but I cannot force it upon you.
I can teach you to share,
but I cannot make you unselfish.
I can teach you respect,
but I cannot force you to show honor.
I can advise you about friends,
but cannot choose them for you.
I can advise you about sex,
but I cannot keep you pure.
I can tell you the facts of life,
but I can't build your reputation.
I can tell you about drinking,
but I can't say "no" for you.
I can warn you about drugs,
but I can't prevent you from using them.
I can tell you about lofty goals,
but I can't achieve them for you.
I can teach you about kindness,
but I can't force you to be gracious.
I can warn you about sins,
but I cannot make you moral.
I can love you as a child,
but I cannot place you in God's family.
I can pray for you,
but I cannot make you walk with God.
I can teach you about Jesus,
but I cannot make Jesus your Lord.
I can tell you how to live,
but I cannot give you eternal life.
I can love you with unconditional love all of my
life . . . and I will!
Dream Of A Day
When I was a little girl,
I always dreamed of this day,
I knew the words off by heart,
I knew exactly what I would say.
And I imagined my Daddy,
walking me down that aisle,
I could see the look on his face,
I could see the pride in his smile.
But life doesn't always run to plan,
I guess that's plain to see,
and some things just go and happen,
some things are just meant to be.
But this is meant to be a happy day,
happier for others than for some,
and I just wanted to share some thoughts,
because I wanted to tell you about my Mom:
My mother has been my inspiration,
she has guided me throughout my life,
and there are some words that I need to say,
especially now that I'm a wife :)
You've always been there for me,
just when I needed you the most,
and in a moment, we'll drink to you,
in a moment, to you we shall raise a toast.
Because you have shown me what love is for,
and the love that two people can have for one another,
you have shown me how to be a devoted wife,
and of course, how to be a wonderful mother.
Those six years were very tough,
but that's just when the tough got going,
and you showed Dad all of your love,
and gee, you did a lot of showing !
Even though you've lost the love of your life,
(and this is one of those meaningful rhymes),
The Lord will give you all of His strength,
to get you through your more difficult times.
And I will also always be there for you,
if you ever need a shoulder or a helping hand,
divided we shall fall and be conquered,
but together and united we will make a stand.
And if you need someone to just sit and listen,
then I'll be there just for you,
because after everything you've done for me,
this is the very least that I can do.
Today, I felt my father's spirit,
I could feel him proudly looking on,
I could feel his love for us all,
I could feel where his love brightly shone.
He just wants you to be happy,
I know this from deep inside my heart,
and he knows that he will love you forever,
and he knows that you'll never truly part.
And all that he will ever wish,
and this my dearest wish too,
is that I have such a wonderful marriage,
and that I'm loved as much as he loved you.
And today, my Daddy's spirit was with me,
and he did indeed walk me down that aisle,
and I imagined the look upon his face,
and yes, it was a very proud smile.

ties between china and japan have been strained by a territorial row over a group of islands, known as the senkaku islands in japan and the diaoyu islands in china. what is the row about?
the eight uninhabited islands and rocks in question lie in the east china sea. they have a total area of about 7 sq km and lie northeast of taiwan, east of the chinese mainland and southeast of japan's southern-most prefecture, okinawa.they matter because they are close to strategically important shipping lanes, offer rich fishing grounds and are thought to contain oil deposits.
the islands are controlled by japan. the latest row, in september 20xx, was sparked by japan's seizure of a
chinese trawler that collided with two coast guard vessels near to the islands. what is japan's claim? japan says it surveyed the islands for 10 years and determined that they were uninhabited. that being the case, on 14 january 1895 it erected a sovereignty marker that
formally incorporated the islands into japanese territory. the senkaku islands became part of the nansei shoto islands -
also known as the ryukyu islands and now as modern-day okinawa prefecture.
after world war ii japan renounced claims to a number of territories and islands including taiwan in the 1951 treaty of san francisco. but under the treaty the nansei shoto islands came under us trusteeship and were then returned to japan in 1971, under the okinawa reversion deal. japan says that china raised no objections to the san
francisco deal. and it says that it is only since the 1970s, when the issue of oil resources in the area emerged, that chinese and taiwanese authorities began pressing their claims.what is china's claim?
china says that the diaoyu islands have been part of its territory since ancient times, serving as important fishing
grounds administered by the province of taiwan. the ministry of foreign affairs says that this is "fully proven by history and is legally well-founded".
taiwan was ceded to japan in the treaty of shimonoseki in 1895, after the sino-japanese war. when taiwan was
returned in the treaty of san francisco, china says the islands - as part of it - should also have been returned. but beijing says kuomintang leader chiang kai-shek did not raise the issue, even when the diaoyu islands were named in the later okinawa reversion deal, because he depended on the us for support.
separately, taiwan also claims the islands. have there been incidents before?
china's ministry of foreign affairs says that the issue should be shelved for future settlement and that the two sides should try to prevent it from being "a disturbing factor" in bilateral ties. there have nonetheless been sporadic incidents over the islands.
in 1996 a japanese group established a lighthouse on one of the islands. chinese activists then sailed repeatedly to the islands and in one incident, hong kong activist david chan jumped into the sea and drowned. since then, there have been periodic attempts by chinese and taiwanese activists to sail to the islands. in 20xx, japan arrested seven chinese activists who landed on the main island.
there have also been face-offs between japanese patrol boats and chinese or taiwanese fishing vessels. in 20xx, 50 taiwanese fishing boats staged a protest in the area, plaining of harassment by japanese patrols. so what next?
the senkaku/diaoyu issue plicates efforts by japan and china to resolve a dispute over oil and gas fields in the east china sea that both claim.
it also highlights the more robust attitude china has been taking to its territorial claims in both the east china sea and the south china sea in recent months.
in the latest row, beijing cancelled talks on the oil and gas field issue. small anti-japanese protests were held in several cities in china.
china also cancelled a visit by 1,000 japanese students to the shanghai expo and a concert by a top japanese band. in the end, japan released the entire crew of the trawler - first the 14-member crew and then the captain, several days later.

It Takes More Than Blood
It takes more than blood to be a dad.
Oh this is surely a proven fact.
I've seen men give his heart to a child ...
Never once think of taking it back.
A Dad is the one who is always there;
He protects a child from all harm.
He gives a child the assurance that he
will be their anchor in any storm.

A real Dad is a man that teaches his child
all the things in life he needs to know.
He's the tower of strength a child leans on.
The source of love that helps them grow.
There are men that children call Daddy.
Oh, he is their shelter when it rains.
He showers them with unconditional love.
As if it were his blood in their veins.

honor him with all the respect that is due.
Understand that he proudly wears this banner ...
Because his heart is big enough for you.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear(磨損);
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden(踩) black.
Oh,I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood,and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Always have faith,It allows you to cope.
Trying times will pass,As they always do.

Trees
J.Kilmer
I think that I shall J.Kilmernever see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins1 in her hair;
Upon whose bosom2 snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with the rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
緊壓在大地甘美而流暢的乳房上;
舉起枝葉繁茂的手臂來祈禱;
戴著一窩知更鳥在頭發(fā)上;
雪花堆積在她的`懷抱里;

The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls
Herry Wadsworth Longfellow
The tide rises, the tide falls,The twilight darkens, the curlew calls;
Along the sea — sands damp and brown
The traveler hastens toward the town,And the tide rises, the tide falls.
潮漲,潮落,暮色漸濃,麻鷸鳴叫;
Darkness settles on roofs and walls,But the sea, the sea in the darkness calls;
The little waves, with their soft, white hands,Efface the footprints in the sands,And the tide rises, the tide falls.
黑暗把屋頂墻壁籠罩,但大海在黑暗中呼嘯;
The morning breaks; the steeds in their stalls
Stamp and neigh, as the hostler calls;
The day returns, but never more
Returns the traveler to the shore,And the tide rises, the tide falls.

Ralph Waldo Emerson
What success?
To laugh often and love much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
And the affection of children;
To earn the approbation(認(rèn)可,嘉許) of honest critics
And endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To give oneself;
To leave the world a little better,
Whether by a healthy child,
A garden patch,
Or a redeemed social condition;
To have played and laughed with enthusiasm
And sung with exultation;(大悅,歡欣)
To know even one life has breathed easier,
Because you have lived……
Th to have succeeded.
